How does work?

Booking your next adventure with is easy - just select your adventure, select the date and the location of where you want to go. The Guru will then give you a list of available guides to help you with that adventure. You will be able to see how other customers rated their experience with these guides, what you need to bring on your trip, and detailed information on each guide and his/her equipment. Our approved guides' credentials have been verified by our staff to ensure you have the best experience possible!

What if I have no fishing experience?

Our guides have worked with all types of customers. Whether you are an expert fisherman or someone that has never fished before and just wants to give it a try, our guides will work with you to help you have an experience to remember.

How do I pay for my fishing trip?

When you book your trip, we process a 10% deposit payment to reserve your trip. You will pay the balance of the price of the trip to the guide when you show up to go on your trip.

We accept Visa, Master Card, American Express, and Discover credit and debit cards. Your deposit payment will be processed through U.S. banks and is protected through our secure payment processor.

How do I contact my guide before I go on my trip?

When you book your trip, you will receive a receipt with your guide's contact information. We encourage you to contact your guide prior to your trip so that your guide is aware of any special needs or requests that you have and can plan accordingly.

How do I ensure the guide can take me after I book the trip?

Your guide will follow up with you within a day of your booking to ensure that your reservation is confirmed. If there is a problem, we will send your request to other guides in the area for the same type of trip to make sure you will have a good qualified guide for your trip.

How does handle cancellations and refunds?

Trip providers display their cancellation policy on their listing and on your receipt when you confirm your trip reservation. This can vary from 24 hours to a week before the trip, depending on the guide. Be sure to pay close attention as each guide sets their own cancellation policy and refunds are based on these policies.

If a guide has to cancel a trip due to weather-related or other factors, and this guide cannot provide alternate arrangements, you will receive a refund of your deposit.

If you cancel a trip outside of the normal cancellation policy set by your guide, you will forfeit the 10% deposit amount paid.

What if my guide doesn't show up?

A "no-show" for a captain or guide is an issue we take very seriously. In the unlikely event your trip provider isn't available for whatever reason on the day of your trip, please call us at 801-805-6913. We will then make every effort to find another local trip provider to get you out on the water. Or you can simply receive a refund of your deposit from

What should I bring on my fishing trip?

Every fishing adventure is different; we recommend checking out the charter listing for boat rules and what is provided. However, your trip provider will send you what is recommended to bring (and not to bring) to make the most of your day out on the water.

How do I get to the boat?

Transportation is different for each trip. Some guides will have you meet at the dock, others may have a pick-up location. Your fishing guide will give you instructions on the best way to meet up for your trip.

Do I need a fishing license?

Every state and fishing trip type (inland/offshore) have different rules for fishing license requirements. It is your responsibility to ask your trip provider well in advance whether or not you will need to purchase your own license.

Should I tip my fishing guide?

If you are satisfied with your fishing adventure, it is the industry norm to show your appreciation by tipping your fishing guide once the trip is completed (we suggest a 15-20% tip). Tipping the Captain/Guide is always appreciated, especially if they put you on the fish! Cash is preferred by our trip providers, but you can discuss payment options with them when the time comes.
